Store your food better

You may not know but the amount of food wastage in the UK is massive. Which means reducing this wastage is not only better for the world but also your pocket.

So you could be asking how to reduce wastage,  well one of the best ways truly is how you store your food to make it last longer. For instance, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic and onions shouldn’t be stored in your refrigerator. These items should be kept at room temperature.

Also, keep these foods away from other foods:

  • Bananas
  • Avocados
  • Tomatoes
  • Cantaloupes
  • Peaches
  • Pears
  • Green onions

These produce an ethylene gas while ripening which then makes other foods spoil quicker.
