It seems that the complaint might be with the underwriter that underwrites your policy.

In most cases, whoopsie is not able to accept or decline claims on the underwriters behalf, we administer the policy but the underwriters have the final decisions. It might be worth raising a complaint with them, so that they can look into the reasons behind the issues you've had further.

Special offer

We do sometimes run special promos, where sometimes it's cheaper in the promotional period. If you've been lucky enough to have a 12 month discount, after the 12 months it does have to go up, otherwise it becomes unaffordable for us and we'd likely have to cancel your policy. All of this is would have been explained to you on the special offer page.

In eithercase, we're sorry you're not happy. We are still one of the cheapest in the UK for many if not all of the policies we sell. You can find more about how we ensure we're cheap by looking through our fair value policy.

Renewal Price

We're sorry if the price has gone up, sadly the price of insurance can go up from time to time.

Did you know?

Our pricing is capped, so if the cost to underwrite your policy goes up, it's because the pricing of insuring your items has gone up.

You've raised a claim

With nearly all insurance providers, if you raise a claim within the term of insurance, you may not get a refund when you try to cancel.

We get charged.

In cases such as annual payments, we get charged by the underwriter for the full year. We could actually lose money if we issued a refund, even if your claim was declined, we may still be charged.

It keeps costs down

You might not realise, but it actually keeps the costs down for everyone. If anyone could take out insurance, raise a claim, and then cancel and get a full refund, the cost to insure will inevitably go up for everyone.
